Northern Downpour

This would be a pretty sweet escape. I’d like to spend a weekend in the woods in a little “tent” like this. I could always ask dad for keys to the hunting cabin…

Good news! Not that I’ve at all mentioned this on my blog, but my grandfather’s been in the hospital for 12 days… and right now he and my grandmother are finally on their way home! Two Thursdays ago my papaw woke up with his heart in a-fib (beating at about 200 beats per minute). In the hospital they did a couple of procedures on him and found that he’d had a heart attack a while back that had caused part of his heart to not work properly for all this time. Last Wednesday they put a defibrillator in his chest (he already has a pacemaker) to shock his heart if it ever runs away on him again. He’s had a few issues since the surgery, but today they finally released him. I’m glad they’re getting to go home; my poor grandmother’s been sleeping on a recliner in his hospital room for the past two weeks, and I think they were both about to go crazy!

Also, the cold I’ve been fighting with seems to have finally reduced itself to just a phlegmy nose and throat, which I am more than happy to deal with after the past few days of crap. All in all, a pretty decent Monday.
